Out Guides deliver a positive visual means of controlling files temporarily on loan to others. Details of who, what and when are recorded on Charge-Out Slips and placed in the smaller Out Guide pocket. The larger pocket acts as a temporary file folder to store newly collected information that comes to the file area while the original file folder is out on the floor, or on loan.
